What applications are worth looking into for on-demand call recording?
The idea is to record specific calls and potentially from various users.
I don’t want every call recorded, and I would prefer on-demand ability
so there’s no pre-configuration for the call necessary.
SoloRecord? SmartRecord? CallRex? A few names I have turned up.
The “automon” appears to be a pretty useful feature.
Definitely along the lines of what we’re wanting, but I
think that it’s going to keep all audio files in the same
location. I need to make sure people don’t get access
to each others audio recordings. We’re not against the
idea of third party software if necessary, so that’s why
I’m asking for any goods/bads on what’s out there.
We don’t have a huge number of employees, but there’s a bunch
of people who spend a lot of time on the phone. I don’t think that
it seems like a good idea, especially considering that we’re talking
about very few calls in comparison to all of the calls overall.
ok, you need to define what it is you’re wanting to do, then you’ll get responses that help a bit more.
who makes the decision to record ? where do you want them stored ? who needs to be able to listen to them ? how are they going to access them ? etc etc.
Each user will make the decision when they want to record.
Whether I enable it for everyone, or setup specific users, is
not a big deal at this point. Stored on the server preferred,
but if they need to store locally that’s probably ok. Only the
person who recorded a session needs access, although they
need to be able to send the file to whomever might need to
listen to it at later date. Web access is the best, but if some
apps have an interface built-in, that may work ok, too.
