No matching peer error?

Hi,
I’m trying to get a soft SIP phone to connect to our Asterisk SIP gateway. I have the following error in the system log.

NOTICE[3664] chan_sip.c: Registration from ‘“Femto” sip:pg5@172.28.3.211’ failed for ‘172.28.3.149’ - No matching peer found

What does this mean?

There is no sip.conf section with the heading:

[pg5]
