I am migrating a firm (important firm) that uses Alcatel to Asterisk.
Problem is that most secretaries on that firm are using a special phone from Alcatel, that has a small keyboard that allow them to do seachs on the phone directory…
Secretaries are a very special case of users… they do not want to change the way they haver to work… and since we are talking about secretaries from top executives of the company, we better make them happier…
We tryed diferent alternatives… Cisco Phones (where is very easy to access to the phone directory using an aproach similiar to T9 predictive writting), using programs as SNAP for integrating directories with desktop… but still, secretaries do not want to change their old phone, with a mini-keyboard integrated, with the new one.
If you known that Alcatel phones model with mini-keyboard integrated, the true is that are fantastic phones…(see them at dealtime.co.uk/xPF-Alcatel-A … urban-grey ) however, they use H.323 (an specific H.323 version user by Alcatel), and I can not use them with Asterisk, I need to use another one…
Anyone is aware of an alternative I can use with VoIP ? Any phone with a mini-keyboard integrated ?
