  1. Do you mean creating Asterisk dialplans, or modifying Asterisk source code?

  2. I suggest your best option is to try something, and if you run into
    problems:

  • explain what you are trying to achieve
  • show you you tried to achieve it
  • show how you tested whether it works
  • include verbatim whatever output gets generated when you test it

That gives everyone here the best opportunity to understand what you’re doing
and be able to make suggestions on how to do it differently.

  1. If you have no idea how to even start with something, so you can’t do the
    above, then explain exactly what you want to achieve, and someone here might
    be able to suggest starting points for you to play with.

Always bear in mind that no-one on a list / forum such as this one is a mind-
reader, so be sure to include enough information about your setup and what you
have done so that we could reproduce it if necessary. Above all, never simply
say “it doesn’t work” - always say what does happen when it doesn’t do what
you were hoping to happen.
