Hello,

I would like to design my own business application. I have looked at available offerings and they are prohibitively expensive and/or do not meet my needs. Also, I am a beginner.

I have done some preliminary reading about Asterisk and I think it’s great. But I don’t love VOIP and the QoS and Latency issues that are emblematic of it and believe these problems to be unacceptable for my application and in general.

Can you set up an asterisk server so that analog or cellular calls are received and transmitted over the PTSN / 3G or LTE network to avoid QoS issues with VOIP.

That is what Asterisk was originally designed for.

You would be best to use an ISDN connection and let the PSTN deal with the interface to mobile networks.
