Is that possible with Asterisk?

Hi,

I am wondering if this setup would be possible using Asterisk and what kind of hardware/software i’d need.

In our main location, we are using a nortel based PBX with both digitals and IP phones. I’d like to deploy IP phones and an Asterisk setup offsite, but still be able to call peoples in our main location using only the extensions used in the nortel system. Is that possible ? Is Asterisk able to route VoIP calls to a non-Asterisk PBX ?

As long as the Nortel box allows for SIP trunks (or any other protocol that Asterisk and Nortel both support) you should have no problems.
