Is it possible to play the mp3 file of any specification in asterisk? i.e can we play any specification format of mp3 file(less than 64KBPS,)? if yes then what we have to change the setting in asterisk?
Why do you want to play an MP3 in Asterisk? The PSTN doesn’t not have anything like the audio quality needed to justify MP3, and mobile phones networks aren’t even suited to music.
Why not just do the, expensive, conversion to mu-Law or A-law in advance?
I haven’t tried it, but I assume that the Asterisk MP3 support will transcode any format of MP3 supported by the underlying library, which presumably includes all standard formats.
