Install problems with 1.2.24

Hi,

I have spent the last 2 days trying to get Asterisk 1.2.24 to work but without any luck and I’m hoping that somebody can help.

The install is on a machine running Centos 5. I’ve followed the instructions at the following link:

There is no libpri and no Zaptel installed as we are using external SIP gateways and SIP phones.

The make and make install come back ok but when I type ‘safe_asterisk’ to start asterisk running I keep getting the following errors:

Automatically restarting Asterisk.
Asterisk ended with exit status 1
Asterisk died with code 1.
Automatically restarting Asterisk.

There is nothing in /var/log/asterisk/full.

I’ve been through every document that I can find and I simply cannot see what I’m doing wrong.

Any advice would be appreciated.

do install libpri and zaptel still if u are no having them in ur system after installing them run this
modprobe zaptel
modprobe ztdummy --------> virtual timer for asterisk…
/sbin/ztcfg -vvvvv

now i think every thing will work fine
other wise copy the asterisk log from /var/lib/asterisk/ to me at vidurmittal@gmail.com

I think you would change you OS to Centos 4.4 if you want to Install libpri and zaptel

I’m away from the server at the moment but should be back later this week and will try the suggestions.
