Ht503 ata connected to analog phone, no tone, audio, undetected :-(

i have a few grandstream ht503 that i bought from USA via ebay.
i live in denmark and i am trying to connect them to a danish analog tone phone (kirk lady)
i have the ht503 registered onto an asterisk server.

my problem is that no matter what i do i cant get the ht503 to detect my phone.
the phone is connected via a danish phone plug to rj11 adapter like these: Telephone Adapter | Denmark Socket Adapter | Fuxin Electronics

the phone doesnt have a tone and the voice menu that the user guide tells about, is not happening. i have tried for days and with different combinations of phones and ht503.

i really need some troubleshooting hints.

here is my ht503 settings: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

I guess that this question is to post on GrandStream community or helpdesk.

Daniel

Look at Slic settings in FXS

also you need be ready to change call tones for you region. this information you can find in indications samples

i have figured out the ht503 doesnt have Denmark as an option in its slic settings, but apparently norway has the same specs according to

so i set the ht503 up with

slic: norway
caller id scheme: etsi-dtmf
vocoder:ilbc

and in asterisk:

;===============TRANSPORT

[simpletrans]

type=transport

protocol=udp

bind=0.0.0.0

;===============EXTENSION 6001

[803995629]

type=endpoint

context=from-internal

disallow=all

tone_zone=dk

dtmf_mode=rfc4733

allow=ilbc,ulaw,alaw

auth=auth803995629

aors=803995629

[auth803995629]

type=auth

auth_type=userpass

password=895948852

username=803995629

[803995629]

type=aor

max_contacts=1

but it still doesnt work.

the connected phone is simply not showing any life and i have tested it multiple times on the landline where it works

i am thinking if the ht503 simply doesnt work in denmark as i feel i have exhausted all possibilities software and hardware wise to make it work :frowning:

What does the asterisk console log show when the command pjsip show endpoints is entered?

Are you certain that the RJ11 side of that has the correct wiring for the
HT503?

I have found adapters (not for Denmark, but for Germany and the UK) some of
which connect to the inner two contacts on the RJ11 plug, and sometimes to the
outer two.

Only one type will work with any specific piece of equipment.

I’m just suggesting this is worth verifying.

Antony.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago.
The second best time is now.

i have plugged the phone into fxs port
when i take the phone off hook i get no tone nor do i get any changes to status page, still just “on-hook”

i have tried to connect a 9v to the phones two leeds (danish plug) and got a working tonepads sounds
i have used a multimeter on the fxs port and have found no voltage on any combinations of the 4 leads.
i have shorted the two middle leeds on the fxs and found it to still be on-hook

i have tried these steps with two 503’s same results
