There is no evidence that they are wrong, and there is no mechanism to vary what is recorded. It is up to you back end application to interpret what is written.

Note that the uniqueid is an alternative name for the channel, and that there are circumstances where either could change in a call. Generally what is constant during dialplan execution is the uniqueid. The channel name will, for example, change if the caller transfers the call.
