How may users?

Hi Guys,

Great website and be nice this is my first post :blush:

I have been developing a VoIP system using asterisk 1.4.16 and would like to know how many concurrent ACTIVE VoIP users (channels?) asterisk can cope with.

I have a 2.8GHz dual processor with 2Gb RAM and we are using a SDSL line with an up/download of 10Mb p/s.

I assume from the FAQ that I would expect around 50 - 60 concurrent users, is this correct?

We would like to benchmark with a limit of phone users so we don’t start running into problems.

Server wise you could probably do upwards of 100 or more. Your limit will be bandwidth. See the wiki for bandwith estimates.
