Hello everyone,
I have several Yealink T56A phones currently configured for Microsoft Teams, but I don’t use Teams and would like to revert them to the standard SIP version to use with XiVO. I’ve tried several methods without success and hope someone here can assist me.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Updating via USB:
Downloaded the SIP firmware for Yealink T56A from the Yealink support site.
Formatted a USB drive to FAT32 and copied the .rom file to the root directory.
Inserted the USB drive into the port on the back of the phones and tried to initiate the update via Settings > Basic Settings > Update > USB Storage Update, but couldn’t find these options in the Teams configuration.
Resetting with keys 1 and 3:
Turned off the phones.
Held down keys 1 and 3 while turning the phones back on, but this did not work.
The error message I receive is: “Firmware update failed! Please import SIP license to continue…”
I am at a loss at this point and would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions to successfully convert these phones.
Thank you in advance for your valuable assistance.
Best regards,
Stéphanie
