I have two asterisk servers. Server A has phones with extensions 2XXX attached to it. Server B has phones with extensions 1XXXX attached to it. I need to configure A & B so that calls either get serviced locally or get forwarded correctly to the other server. Is there a good example of this?

See the “otherbox” example, and many similar ones, the extensions.conf.sample that should have come with your Asterisk, as it a key part of the documentation, as well as the starting state of extensions.conf.
