I have a fresh Asterisk (latest 1.2) install on a new server running the latest Slackware 12.1. Everything seems to work ok - incoming and outgoing calls sound fine. However Playback/Background of sound files (for example vm prompts) sound pretty bad. For now I’m still using the configs from ‘make samples’. Does anyone have a suggestion ? Thanks!
Are you using wav or gsm? I accidentlly set it for gsm in the make menuconfig once and the sounds were crap. Might want to make sure they are set to wav.
Thanks - I don’t think 1.2 supports a ‘make menuconfig’ - at least it doesnt work for me. Does anyone know how to specify to use wav in Asterisk 1.2 ?
