Hiya guys,
I’m new to linux, installed Redhat last week. I have fumbled my way through the install of Asterisk 1.2.17 using google and this forum. The problem i have is i cannot seem to find anyway to ‘run’ the asterisk application?!? 
Am i missing something??

the simplest way for you might be to run “make config” in your Asterisk source directory, then run “service asterisk start”. you’ll have a running Asterisk instance then (as long as you have conf files) and you can connect to it by running “asterisk -r”

not unless you install it, and even then it’s a remote GUI (unless you want X to kill your call quality)
