DISA problem - other party can't hear me!

Hi there all,

I can dial thro’ my DISA now, but when the other party picks up the ‘phone, I can’t speak to them (well I can for about the first second), but when Asterisk seems to detect answer supervision, then it cuts my speech to the other party… I can hear them perfectly fine tho’…

Any ideas or suggestions?

Many thanks in advance,
-filmnet

log output please, no crystal balls allowed here !

Hi there,

Apologies for the big delay (been getting away from technology for a while!).

This is a sample call via my DISA to a FWD number (via Sipgate, hence 000393 code). I ring my incoming Sipgate number, enter my PIN code, then dial the FWD number with peering code prefix. It works, but the called party cannot hear me.

The number 100xxxx is the incoming Sipgate number. I am dialling the equivalent geographic number from my landline, (020) 7100 xxxx.

I am calling from a landline with the number (01273) 68xxxx.

many thanks if you could help out,

-filmnet

Any ideas guys?

Should I just junk my Asterisk equipment? I’ve got nowhere with it, exception of voicemail.

Reason I need DISA sorted out is I will be made homeless in December, and I wanted to install the Asterisk equipment at a friend’s broadband connection, and use the DISA when I’m on the move (far cheaper than public telephones).

Well I’ve just tried to edit my configs to see if that would have any effect:

SIP_NAT.CONF:

nat=yes
inside_net=192.168.1.8 ;
inside_mask=255.0.0.0
outside_addr=87.81.XX.XX
externip=87.81.XX.XX
localnet=192.168.1.0/255.0.0.0

Seemingly to no avail - I’ve tried the FWD echo test, and couldn’t hear myself, but oddly the # key works to hang it up!

Also I have a problem that I have to use IP addresses for my providers, if using the domain names, it just doesn’t work.

Up.
