DDI style logging system

Hi all,

I’m not sure if this is the correct forum, however I am trying to find information on using some form of direct dial on an asterisk system, in theory this should be possible, however is there a way to do this without physically adding extensions to the line?

What I mean for example is, if I have a physical line connected to asterisk, that identifies a particular customer and then a staff member dials that number with extra digits at the end of the phone number being the equiv of a pin number. Is it possible to pick that up and then use a couple agi scripts to handle the extra digits?
