I would like to connect my asterisk to a SIP Gateway , which provides me a SIP gateway IP, sip id and passwd.
My objective is to provide a prefix (which will be stripped off) , which all extensions on the * can dial and use the SIP account to make international calls.
Please advise.

You can do exactly what you are asking very easily.
