Cisco 7960 not ringing on outbound calls


I am new to the forum. I have an Asterisk server setup here at the house with a Cisco 7960 phone. Everything works great but when I make calls, I do not hear the phone ringing the person I am calling. I know it is definetly ringing becuase I am watching the asterisk console. Sometime there is such a delay before I hear anything that the person I am calling has already siad “hello” and I did not hear them. Also, if their voice mail picks up then their VM recording is half over before I hear anything. This is starting to get annoying. Please help if you can.

Any help from anyone would be appreciated. I need someone to point me in the right direction.
