Can not make dahdi under Centos 8

I am trying to build DAHDI under

Centos 8above
DAHDI 3.1.0
asterisk 17.2.0
libpri 1.6.0

compile seems to be ok, but the configure script end with the error
config.status: error: cannot find input file: `Makefile.in’
make: *** [Makefile:10: all] Error 1

creating version.c

I need some ideas to go on

I doubt that the package compiled fine if the configure script failed. You need to describe what you did with more details.

I gave up this install on Centos8.
I could not get past the package dependencies on the install_prereq Asterisk provided script and will try with Centos7
