can asterisk@home 0.8 work in production in a t1-100 extensions, somebody probed this scenario?

Yes, any linux distro on any decent machine can handle 100 extenions and a t1. To connect two asterisk machines together you will want to use iax, and if bandwith is a concern iax trunking.
