Call forwarding via asterisk or directly via DID provider

Noob considering asterisk and Vitelity. Would have four DIDs with one forwarded to another number (answering service) each evening.

Does anyone know if a call to one of the DIDs can be forwarded directly from Vitelity without having to go through asterisk or must it be received by asterisk and transferred to the number via an outgoing channel? Vitelity’s website doesn’t show call forwarding as a feature so I am uncertain.

I’m hoping that providers offer the ability to easily enable or disable call forwarding via a control panel or phone menu - do other providers (teliax, voicepulse, or others) offer this capability?

Also, if Vitelity does forward the call directly, is there a call log that can be downloaded?
