I signed up with Broadvoice. When it works it’s great. Sometimes it does not work. I tried to contact them by phone, but I gave up after 20 minutes on hold. “Your call is important to us…”
I sent two e-mails, but got not even an automatic response.
Does anyone have anything good to say about their customer service?
Is it just bad luck that I feel abandoned?
Should I put a warning on the wiki?
I agree their customer service lagging I never had luck with email and reaching someone on the phone takes a while but when you speak to someone they are very helpful and quite knowledgeable. I am planning to switch from Vonage.
You get what you pay for. I have been using them for about 6 months. It has always been hard to reach their customer service. Lately their SIP service has been a little flaky. Hopefully it is just growing pains and they will get their act together.
Try VoicePulse. I have never had a problem with them (but then again, I’ve never had to call them yet).
They have standard type plans like Vonage ( voicepulse.com ). Of which you can add softphone SIP access, which you can configure for Asterisk.
The other option is to to with their Voicepulse Connect plan. It is specifically designed for Asterisk, and even supports IAX in addition to SIP. I don’t believe it supports voicemail, but who needs it if you’re running your Asterisks with your own voicemail system?
The last couple of weeks broadvoice service has been horrid.
I’d have to agree with some of the others the voicepulse connect service may run a little more but its well worth the money. In roughly 5 months with both services I can’t recall an issue with the voicepulse service. Sadly I can’t say the same for broadvoice. I’ve only had to call into voicepulse once and I think I had about a 3 or 4 minute hold but most issue including sample IAX configs can be easily found in the online KB.
I can not find a BYOD plan other than the additional softphone plan, which is not very attractive.
Nor can I find any mention of Asterisk.
I think their web site is horrible, I can’t find anything.
