Blind transfer (#) problem

I have the following situation:

We are using Polycom 501 SIP phones.

We need to be able to transfer a call even if we initiated the call, thus when we make an outbound call I have Tr as options in my dialplan for the outgoing extention. The problem we have now is when we have to enter a number like social security number for example followed by the # sign Asterisk interrupts with “transfer”. We still need to be able to do blind transfer as the transfer button on the Polycom phones will not park a call correctly.

Is there anybody out there that have the same problem or solution?
