Been Away From Asterisk...What's New?

So I dabbled in Asterisk a couple years ago more for just learning SIP than anything else.

However, lately I have been “dabbling” again with WebRTC which I am really interested in.

I notice there was some traffic on Asterisk/WebRTC integration and I am wondering what the state of that effort is? I read a blog by Kevin Fleming and this caught my eye:

“Very soon (hopefully in the next few weeks), we’ll be able to demonstrate a standards-compliant audio/video call from a browser through Asterisk (to any destination or channel technology that Asterisk supports) without the use of any plugins or native code in the browser, at all. Pure HTML5 and JavaScript on the browser end, and new modules on the Asterisk end. Stay tuned!”

This blog entry was dated May of 2012! Has the above been accomplished?

Is there documentation on setting the Asterisk up and enabling WebRTC?

Is there a demo site available that can demonstrate what Kevin revealed?

Can you make conference calls with Asterisk/WebRTC?

Thanks and look forward to your responses.

yes, take a look on the asterisk’s wiki.

It looks like video is not supported? What sense does integrating WebRTC when video does not work?
