Is anybody using an Avaya 4612 on their Asterisk system? If so where you able to use SIP or using H.323? If you can also explain how to make it work I would appreciate it!

I’m finding mixed answers to whether the 4612 even supports SIP thats why I’m asking the question.

I will try this out though and see what I can find out.

Be noted that Avaya uses their proprietary extensions over H.323, so technically Avaya’s H.323 phones supports H.323 protocol, but in reality they just not interoperable. I’m working on providing support of Avaya H.323 extensions in chan_h323 (together with gatekeeper support, etc.).
