I am new to this area. What is the starting point to study the code. is there any call graph available for a simple inbound call ?
any info to understand internals and base code would be helpful. thanks.

I most definitely suggest reading through the Asterisk O’Rielly book, along with other online materials. www.voip-info.org is a wiki site based on Asterisk, feel free to browse around there as well.
