Asterisk test audio call

Is it a way to do the following in asterisk

  1. Asterisk answers a call
  2. The user says a message
  3. Asterisk repeats the message

Like what Skype does for testing the audio devices

Use Record and Playback.

I forgot to add that the call is up 24/7 and never hungup so I need this to work somehow with voice recognition.
