Asterisk Now: install hangs on detecting hardware

Hi,

Have tried two or three times now. I downloaded the AsteriskNOW 6.12 ISO (64 bit).

The install hangs at “detecting hardware…” (in character mode). Looks like it is in the anaconda loader. This happens regardless of whether I selected the Asterisk 11 or Asterisk 13 install on the GUI menu.

The hardware is an Asus M5A97 motherboard with an AMD FX 8350 processor, a Crucial MX300 525 GB solid state drive, and a Dialogic D/4PCI 4 port board.

Any ideas?

Did a little self help, I discovered that CentOS (which I’m assuming underpins AsteriskNOW) has problems with ACPI on some systems. So when I went to boot it last time, I hit the “Tab for options” key on the menu, and added “acpi=off” (without quotes), and presto! AsteriskNOW now progresses to the install menu.
