Asterisk Not sending NOTIFY for MWI

Has anybody seen this ?

Voicemail works, in fact everything works but this

We are on the latest version of Asterisk in a pure IP/SIP environment not analog phones or Digium cards

you need to add to sip.conf for each phone:

mailbox=1234

if the context the phone is in with context= is different from its voicemail.conf context you need

mailbox=1234@vmcontext

then make the phones not send SUBSCRIBE for mwi. Asterisk will notify the phones as needed to update their mwi.
