Hi, first of all sorry for my english,
i’ve an Asterisk box, with a TE110P and a E1 trunk plug in to it. The thing is that i’m trying to make calls from Argentina to Mexico via this trunk, but when more than 3 calls are in progress at the same time, the callee suffers from skips to the point of not understanding what is being said, and our aim is to make close to 40 calls simultaneusly.
I’m using iax2 protocol between the softphone and the Asterisk box, and ulaw codecs.
The Asterisk box is a dual Xeon, with 2gb of ram and Raid 1 of two 170gb disks, asterisk version 1.2
Please someone got any help…
Thanks in advance
Marcos
your specs are fine so there must be something that’s throttling either Asterisk or the network. what the load average looking like ? and does ‘top’ show anything worrying when Asterisk is running ?
do you have any QoS on the network, how heavy is the network traffic in general. have you considered separating the VoIP traffic (not really that easy with softphones of course !!)
Thanks for the reply, i’ll be testing de network traffic and the load on the server, meanwhile do you have any other idea on waht could be tested, perhaps something related to the configuration, if you need to i could post my zapata.conf or any other files needed
Thanks in advance
Marcos
