Hey,

I am playing around with Asterisk agents and call center and would like to know a way to login asterisk agents to an extension ? is it possible to it with agi ?

I’m not sure what you mean by login to an extension, especially as many people don’t use “extension” in the correct Asterisk sense.

Why AGI and not simple dialplan?

Hey David,

thank you for your response, let me correct my statement, I want to login an agent using dial plan or probably using AGI script,

Just want a first hand tip or assistance which would be a easy way to execute this.

Tried this : http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/agentlogin.html, with no success, I am using asterisk 1.8.15 version as of now.

Asterisk 1.8 is two years beyond end of life. Also I’m not sure if chan_agent is still supported.

However with Asterisk 1.6 we had no problems using AgentLogin from dialplan (redirected there by AMI).

As such, you would need to provide logs showing the failure you are getting.
