Asterisk - Avaya H.323 ip trunk

Hi all,

We have a working ip trunk between astersisk and avaya. Now everybody tests asterisk with SIP and reports 100’s and thousands of calls.

But in our case, we tried a different setting. We fire some SIP/ISDN calls to asterisk, dial the IP trunk internally and play some sweet music on Avaya. But to our utter surprise, only 1 call is sent on the trunk

But if, instead of firing simutaneous calls from a generator, we try a manual one, say 6 people calling the extension and then reach avaya, all of 6 are handled concurrently.

I use ooh323, and we have enough licenses for avaya to handle 300 or 400 h.323 calls. What is limiting the asterisk to send concurrent calls on IP trunk, when it does send a delayed call(a call hitting the extension with a delay of 1 s than prev one)??

Thank you

Hi all,

Sorry…i installed another asterisk and did a ip trunking… the other guy accepts all of the simultaneous calls… seems like old avaya beast needs some taming…

Thanks

Hi all,

Finally i tamed the beast. In every document for Avaya-Asterisk IP trunking, in the signalling group, “Calls share signalling connection” is set to yes. Guys, thats not going to work for concurrent calls. 8) . Set it to no. And you are ready for some real asterisk taming the avaya, as was in our case. :smiling_imp: .

Thank you
