Asterisk Analog telephony

Hi

We have been using asterisk server with softphones at the client end and the Internet curcuit is connected to the one of the ethernet port of the asterisk server. We plan to migrate this setup with digium hardware.

We want to use internet (Voip ) circuit and still want to use digium hardware to aceive best qulaity.

Pls suggest some hardware config to work with asterisk.

Thanks

is the wiki down ? voip-info.org

Thanks. I am checking at the Wiki. Basically I am looking at similar hardware like Audicodes MP124 Gateway. is there a station adapter which can be fixed in the Asterisk server where i can connect my analog telephones?

if I use Digium Wildcard TDM2400P , and I am connecting my internet in one of the ethernet port of asterisk server . I would like to have 24 analog phones to be connected to the TDM 2400 P. will this config work ? any additional hardware is required?

Thanks

should be fine. remember to order the FXS modules.

Thanks . TDM2460E will do for 24 ports ?

I don’t use any E1 card and still want to my asterisk to dial through
ethernet. only the agent side will be connected to the TDM2460E

I still don’t understand why TDMcard has two type of daughter cards like fxo and fxs?

Thanks

lookup FXO and FXS on the wiki. FXO will connect a system to a telco, FXS is for connecting analogue phones/equipment to a system.

Are use sure you have analog phone and note digital propritary phone ?

We plan to use freemate /planitronics dialpads . normal pstn phones can be used with this setup? what is digital proprietry phones?

Thanks

When I use Audicodes all the FXS ports are registered as SIP peers .
When I use TDM 2400 P how asterisk gong to handle these channels?
will agent login applications work as the same way like softphones and audicodes works?
