Artifacts on Playback of a audio file

I don’t know why but when asterisk plays a .ulaw file I here a noticeable click. This happens on every ulaw file. I’d like to get rid of that. Might it be a codec related? (There is no click in the file.)

I’ve tried the gsm format, the alaw format, and the ulaw format. All of then have this odd click, pop, noise, artifact. Its as if the playback system uses the click to start playing…

I just removed the sound card from the equation in case it did an interrupt. Some other useful information is I’m using asterisk on a gui until I have it working then it will go on a server without a gui.
