A couple questions on a new setup

Hi all,

So I’m running an Asterisk 11 build, and have a couple questions on issues I’m encountering if someone has some feedback?

Background - Running Asterisk 11, SIP Provider is a company called AxVoice (they have setup examples on their site, but the examples are a bit dated.) Using no-ip to provide dynamic DNS service to IP. All calling is being done using Zoiper on my Android.

  1. For some reason my registration to the provider drops out after a certain period of time. All I have to do is a SIP reload and it registers again. Is this possibly a NAT issue, or something to do with my DDNS? If so is there something I should do to have Asterisk automatically reload SIP?

  2. I’m getting a 486 “busy here” when I try to dial out. Not sure what I’m missing – any suggestions for items I should look for in my dialplan or something? I’ve read the cause can be gateway issues, codec problems, etc.
