Would this work to establish a calling card service?

Hello,

I’m currently interested in starting a calling card service between just two countries for now. Correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t I be able to pay for T1/PRI service in both countries, connect Asterisk systems (card and codec) at both locations then link them through IAX2 to allow calls from one country to another at the local rates while handling billing, IVP, and all that good stuff through some kind of Asterisk calling card software?

I’d appreciate any help I can get here, I’m new to all this.

Yes, you definitly could do that. But be very careful wih the billing application, it must be spot on :wink:

Thanks for the advice, I definitely won’t skimp on the billing software. I’ve been up for like the past week straight figuring out how I could make this happen. I feel so accomplished now that I’ve figured out some kind of solution haha.

Technically you can do it, but if the market isn’t already saturated, there may be legal reasons why you can’t.
