Watch out : asterisk 1.4.15 mighforget about yourg729 codecs

FYI

Just upgraded 2 test machines with the fresh asterisk 1.4.15 and found out asterisk does no longer know about my licensed g729 codecs.

show g729 does no longer exist

Re-installing 1.4.14 by re-running make install in my /sources/1.4.14 directory brings everything back including the g729 so I suspect something is missing in 1.4.15.

Both machines are running CentOS 5 with kernel
2.6.18-8.1.10.el5 #1 SMP Thu Sep 13 12:17:54

more testing tomorrow - it’s already 2 am over here.

Let me reply to myself :

the g729 codec problem is fixed for my servers by downloading version 33 of the codec_g729a that was released 24h after the 1.4.15 asterisk release.

At this time my test servers have a working g729 codec and show g729 works again.
