Voicemail claiming a file does not exist

At one time the feature of changing the greeting message was working…then one day it stopped. No clue as to who/why.

Enter the voicemail system and hit 0. The call is dumped from the phone users POV.

tail -f messages
[Jul 10 08:35:19] WARNING[25751] file.c: File vm-tmpexists does not exist in any format
[Jul 10 08:35:19] WARNING[25751] file.c: Unable to open vm-tmpexists (format 0x4 (ulaw)): No such file or directory

locate vm-tmpexists
/var/lib/asterisk/sounds/vm-tmpexists.ulaw

So it does exist.

and asterisk -r
[Jul 10 08:14:51] WARNING[25486]: file.c:607 ast_openstream_full: File vm-tmpexists does not exist in any format
[Jul 10 08:14:51] WARNING[25486]: file.c:906 ast_streamfile: Unable to open vm-tmpexists (format 0x4 (ulaw)): No such file or directory

grep operator voicemail.conf
operator=no ; Allow sender to hit 0 before/after/during leaving a voicemail to

Ah it may exist but does asterisk have permisions to see it ?

That was the 1st thing I checked.

ls -l /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/vm-tmpexists.ulaw
-rw-r–r-- 1 asterisk asterisk 36694 2008-03-21 16:02 /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/vm-tmpexists.ulaw

duplicate deleted

ok to test the file try

exten => 200,1,Playback(vm-tmpexists)

What version of * are you using ? and do you have any other files with a .ulaw extension ? as VM usaly uses gsm for the prompts
