Upgrade Asterisk

Hi to all,
Someone could explain me the correct procedure to upgrade an asterisk installation to latest release.

In particular i have an asterisk box installed from source 1.8 compiled and installed with non root user with dahdi and libpri

In general i would like to know the normal procedure in order to make correct upgrades also in the future.

  1. Delete the Asterisk modules (default in /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/). Do not forget about a backup just in case :wink:
  2. Manually compile Asterisk just like you would install it for the first time (same procedure)
