Trouble starting asterisk

Hello everyone. I have had asterisk 1.0.9 installed in an old pc for testing and have not used it for a while. Today I tried to start it and it is giving me a permission denied.

I need some help getting it started as far as linux commands. Where the src files are located and or if I’m being denied because of a password how to get around it.

Thanks.

I have had a similar problem in the past. What version of linux are you using?

Your source files are “probably” located in /usr/src
look for zaptel, libpri, asterisk directories.

You might also download the most recent version… Just upgraded to 1.2.12.1 and the upgrade went really smooth.

If you have time and you don’t have anything on the PC you might look at FreePBX as it has a really nice ISO disk you can burn and install.
