, first post but have been reading for years. I just wanted to share a dial plan and script I wrote. I’ve been looking for something to replace my Weatherfone Time & Temp device for some time, but it recently died, so I was forced to just write my own script and dial plan.
I’m using freePBX and it’s only function is for this time & temp service, I’m sure there’s better ways to do this, but since my asterix PBX only serves one function to answer sip trunks and do its thing, I went this route. I hope this helps somebody in the future looking to resurrect an old service like this!
A little background info this time in temp service has been around for a very long time. I called it as a child, it’s probably the most well-known number in this area. Who remembers phone numbers these days? Well almost everyone in the area knows this number. And with all of the technology and everyone having a cell phone in their pocket, you’ll probably be surprised to hear this time and temperature service still receives right around 1 million calls a year. So I couldn’t let it die. I’ve been maintaining this ever since the mercantile national Bank shut it down.
My script uses my voice and I include an AI generated female voice but you could use your own voice and re-record all of the sounds. The project is listed below and if you get bored give it a call!
