Switching users on Phones

Hey guys!

We want to generate mobile workplaces for our employees.
We are using stationary telephones (SNOM 760) and would like to keep them.

Is there a way to manage that auser can go to any phone, sign in and use it with his own telephone number?
Right now we have a solution where the user can sign in to another phone but incomming calls are send to the phone which was registered first.

Best option: When loggin into a new phone, the old phone gets unregistered.
Other option: Incomming calls get send to both phones.

Is this even possible?
Is there another option?

Thanks for your time!

I think you are looking for hot-desking. You should separate out devices from extensions.
You can get some idea from here. http://www.asteriskdocs.org/en/3rd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/getting_funky.html

USe & on the Dial Command to dial to multiples SIP devices

Thanks for your answer!

The tutorial you linked is used for Asterisk 1.8. Is it possible to use this on asterisk 14 and ubuntu server 16?
I tried to install one but I didn’t find the func_odbc.so file…

Thanks!

I don’t think you should have any issues porting the dialplan and other config files on Asterisk 14. However you should still go through the upgrade notes for Asterisk 10,11,12,13 and 14 to see what has been changed since Asterisk 1.8.

Did you install all the dependencies required for odbc configuration with Asterisk? You should check it using make menuselect to see if odbc related modules are selected there.
