I am new to asterisk and looking for some information redarding SIP + Asterisk … Firstly, I wanna find out whether the sip proxy in asterisk is stateful or stateless, how can i find that out …??
Secondly, if i have two NIC cards will asterisk listen on both interfaces (logically it should )… how can i see the interfaces Asterisk is listening on ??

well its a back 2 back user agent …

thanks anyway

I am not sure exactly what you are after doing but Asterisk works well with multiple interfaces. I have setup several Asterisk systems with one LAN interface and one WAN interface (Internet connected). THis config works fine. I do not believe that Asterisk does anything that could be considered as exactly stateful in the way that it handles SIP and IAX connections when used as a proxy. It simply proxies the connections (either in for out) as you need them. You can put restrictions on interface useage etc in the SIP and IAX config files.
