Asterisk AMI and DTMF

DTMF sent from AMI will go out on the channel you specify, not be seen as incoming. If there is no alternative to using DTMF, you must interpose a Local channel and send the DTMF on the ;1 side of that. If you do it properly, the caller won’t hear the tones.

It would be easier if you used a consistent user interface throughout, either all screen or all phone.
