Is it possible to configure (compile) asterisk with out using its own RTP stack. Voice codec card generates RTP packets. Can any one help me ?

I found several card witch work with asterisk (ie. “diva server cards” eicon.com/worldwide/solution … d_Asterisk) and it generates RTP packets on it own. Does any one know how it is done.
i checked the link and read the text, i have no idea how they would do that without patching asterisk.
