Ring for indications.conf and sound quality

Hi,
I am in Australia. I am with 512/512 adsl and asterisk 1.2.

  1. When i dial overseas, i cannot hear the other end’s phone ringing. Can anyone kindly tell me what change i need to make for this to happen.

  2. My calls take ages to connect. I am with IAX connection to my VoIP provider as trunk = yes. Any suggestions? Also the voice quality with gsm should have been very clear with the connection speed i have but it seems pretty sunken and unclear.

Can anyone help??
