remove /usr/sbin/asterisk

remove the zaptel modules from your kernel module directory
remove the startup files for zaptel (and asterisk ??) … /etc/init.d

should be enough for now

  1. download the asterisk tarball (and any others you want)
  2. untar it/them to your /usr/src directory
  3. change into the new directory created
  4. read the README

i’m already downloded asterisk 1.4 and un tared too.

please tell me how can install and issue command in terminal window…

seriously … read the README file. if you’re going to have to read the instructions (regardless of where they are), how can it be so hard to read the excellent documentation the developers have put together for you.

there are lots of changes in 1.4 … it wouldn’t be a bad thing to find out what they are.

/deep breath
