Disclaimer: I know very little about Asterisk, VoIP and SIP servers so the following may contain stupid content.
For a demo my colleague and I are thinking about using a mobile phone client to capture streaming video and relay this to a webpage. During some preliminary research yesterday, I came across MySync which more or less seems to fit the bill on the mobile end of it. This needs a SIP server to talk to. My question is, is it possible to set up an Asterisk server on the server end of this and in some way pick up the videostream from the mobile client(s) and transfer this into an application server? The rest of our stack runs on RHEL 5.1 and so I’m fairly used to mocking around with conf files etc
My apologies for the rambling nature of this post, but the value chain I’m looking for is:
mobile phone client -> SIP server -> application server/webserver -> browser.
Do any of you think this is possible?
Because this is new territory for me, I’m not even sure I’m looking up the right tree, but any feedback is much appreciated!
