Radio over IP Remote System?

Group,

Anyone know if Asterisk can be setup to remotely control and operate a two way radio over an internet connection?

I have looked at going with Telex-Vega IP Boxes but they are just too expensive, so I am looking for alternative options into remotely controlling a commercial two way radio, transmit, receive, changing channels and etc.

Isn’t there a cheaper option? Something that is under $300.00?

$900.00 is a bit out there for what it is.
